Download and run the Canon IJ Setup Repair Tool



If you receive the error 'Setup quit unexpectedly' while installing the printer or scanner Setup CD-ROM, download and run the Canon IJ Setup Repair Tool before attempting to re-install the software.

If the 'Setup quit unexpectedly' error is still on your computer screen, click the 'Ignore' button.



  1. Using your Web browser, navigate to our Download Library.

  2. Select the 'category', 'type', and 'model' of your printer or scanner, and then click the Go button.
  3. Choose 'Mac OS X' from the Select OS drop-down menu.

    Note: Instead of using the CD-ROM for installation all the necessary files needed for installation can be downloaded from our Web site, by using this method you will not encounter the above error. If you are not sure which files to download continue with step 5 below.
  4. Scroll down to the Software section and select the 'Canon IJ Setup Repair Tool'.
  5. After reading the license agreement, click the 'I Agree - Begin Download' button at the bottom of the page.
  6. Once the download has completed, double-click the downloaded file (Canon IJ Setup Repair Tool.dmg) to decompress it.

    Note: Your browser may decompress the file automatically. If so, skip to the next step.
When the following icon is displayed, double-click 'Canon IJ Setup Repair Tool.'


When the following window is displayed, click OK.





When the following window is displayed, click EXIT to close the window. 


Re-insert the Setup CD-ROM and try performing the installation again.

Canon product cannot be added to Canon iMAGE GATEWAY

Canon iMAGE GATEWAY

Log into Canon CiG using Solution Menu Ver. 1.3.0 as a user who has already registered his/her product to CiG and confirm the Solution Menu version.

To confirm the version of Solution Menu, move the mouse to the title bar of Canon Solution Menu, and the current version will be displayed as popup.

Enter the login name and the password in the Member Login window.

Click 'OK' without selecting Remember login information (default setting) to log into CiG.

Click 'Register product'.

After the "processing" dialog displayed in processing is displayed, as the following error message is displayed, the product cannot be registered.

When the product cannot be registered after the above error message is displayed, perform either of the following actions to solve the problem:
    1. When logging into CiG in step 3, select Remember login information, then log into CiG.
    2. Download and install Solution Menu Ver. 1.3.1 from the download site first. Then, log into CiG and add the product.

How to Fix Error ##335 on Canon printers



Solutions:
1. Cartridge not connected well (or damaged: replace it): clean contact on cartridge and printhead.
 
2. Ribbon cable: verify the connection.
 
3. Ribbon cable copper strips has broken: replace it.
